Happy Clients

"From the moment I met Maggie I knew I would be in good hands. My husband is in the National Guard and was going to be away for the last trimester and actual birth of my baby girl. I certainly needed support and found that in Maggie's care. Maggie came over my house often to help me create a birth plan, teach my sister, who would be at the birth, laboring techniques, and provide emotional support just by her mere presence.

In a time that could have been a lot more stressful and lonely, Maggie's support provided much comfort. She even went above and beyond and found me two postpartum doulas. My actual birth plans didn't occur as planned and I needed an emergency c-section. Maggie was the first person at the hospital to help me understand what was happening. She communicated with my husband and sister. I was very confused and scared and again her presence helped to calm me and her communication helped to calm my husband who was many miles away and very anxious as well.

After the birth of a healthy baby girl, she stood on the side and just watched to see if there was anything else I needed without interrupting my time with my family and baby. Her non-invasive nature was very welcomed. From start to finish, Maggie was always aware of what I needed and was supportive of all my decisions. I would highly recommend her as a birth doula!!"

We decided to hire a doula at the last minute (38 weeks!), and Maggie's flexibility made us a great match. We felt comfortable with her right away when we met for our initial visit. She is knowledgeable and non-judgmental and was open to supporting us in whatever choices we wanted to make during our birth.

Maggie was responsive and supportive via text and phone when I was going in and out of "false" labor for several days before my contractions started. I had a long labor--23 hours total — and she helped me stay comfortable and calm at home for as long as I wanted before going to the hospital.

Once we arrived at the hospital, when things didn't go according to "plan," Maggie worked with us and the nurses seamlessly to make sure I always felt safe and knew what was going on. She also came to our house for a postpartum home visit to make sure we were all doing well. We felt that Maggie genuinely shared in the joy and excitement of our birth and we would highly recommend her as a doula.
